The story revolves around the Blue Lock, a prison-like training center created by the aptly named trainer Jinpachi Ego. Hired by the Japan Football Association to turn around their performance at the FIFA World Cup, Jinpachi determines what Japan lacks is a selfish, self-centered striker who cares about nothing but scoring goals.

Blue Lock is designed as a boot camp for Japan’s top high school talent, but there’s a catch. Only one player will become Japan’s striker, and the others will be banned from representing the national team. The story mainly follows Yoichi Isagi, a child who dreams of representing Japan on the world stage. However, he meets many other enigmatic personalities in the Blue Lockeach having the same ambition as him.
