What happened in the previous episode?

Chapter 79 began with Konoha’s Sensory Team along with Sasuke, Shikamaru, and other shinobi searching for Kawaki. Boruto was left alone as his eye was injured, but Momoshiki continued to laugh as the boy was about to lose everything.

The manga cuts to Kawaki who is no longer able to clear his chakra while holding Sukunahikona. Eida found him in the woods and decided to help him. Kawaki expresses his frustration as he wants to kill Momoshiki and save the village. However, to achieve this, he had to kill the son of his beloved Hokage.

Eida affectionately held Kawaki’s face, and the two of them rose into the air, sending massive shockwaves across the planet. Eida’s omnipotence allows her deepest desires to materialize and take shape. His so-called “charm” is only the result of his desires taking shape through Omnipotence.

According to Momoshiki, it was all about shinjutsu, and Kawaki materialized his desires through Eida’s Omnipotence. This meant that the roles of Boruto and Kawaki had been swapped. Mitsuki had encountered Boruto and attacked him with the intention of killing him.

That’s when we realized that Kawaki had become Kawaki Uzumaki, the Seventh Lord’s son, while Boruto was just a lonely outcast hunted by the whole village. Eida and Kawaki were unaffected by Omnipotence, nor was the protagonist since he was Otsutsukified. At the end of the chapter, Kawaki asked Eida to inform Shikamaru that Naruto died at Boruto’s hands.

What to expect in Chapter 80?

The Omnipotence still has a lot of unanswered questions, and fans can expect the next chapter to explain how Sarada was unaffected by this phenomenon.

Since Sarada is the only one who knows the truth apart from her friend, we can expect the young Uchiha to put a well-conceived plan in place that will help Boruto get out of this situation. Sarada’s ability to make decisions in difficult situations is perfect for this.

The series is unlikely to continue casting Naruto’s son as the series antagonist. The first half of the chapter might focus on confrontation, while the second half might reveal Sarada’s plan to save her friend from this situation.
