Every Gojo vs Megumi Hint in the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

Every Gojo vs Megumi Hint in the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has become very interesting over the past few weeks and has given rise to a lot of speculation. Now that Gojo has been unsealed, he’s ready to wreak havoc on Kenjaku and Sukuna. However, things have gotten much more complicated since he was sealed, and he now has to make tough decisions along the way.

Gojo’s fight against Sukuna has been announced for a long time and many fans are eagerly awaiting it, but a new element has been added to the equation: Megumi. Gojo’s apprentice has been possessed by Sukuna, which could force the latter to take Megumi’s life. In a way, it’s something that’s been hinted at throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

Jujutsu Kaisen manga hinted at this upcoming battle

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga, while not straight forward, has already given several hints about the possibility of Gojo fighting Megumi. Now Chapter 117 has been very clear about this compared to the other clues.

This chapter is a flashback during the Shibuya arc, and shows Gojo telling Megumi how the leaders of their respective clans killed each other several generations ago. He goes on to insist that the head of the Gojo Clan had the Six Eyes and Limitless, as he does now. As for the Zen’in, they had the Ten Shadow Technique, which is of course one of Megumi’s signature moves.

This is very important because it clearly indicates that there is a history between these two characters when it comes to their families. There is also an element of story repetition in Jujutsu Kaisen, which, to be honest, is a very common trope in shonen manga.

This is more of a clear proof than a hint. Now that Sukuna has taken over Megumi’s body, Gojo needs to put an end to the King of Curses because he’s probably the one with enough power to do so, which is saying something. This is a point on which the manga Jujutsu Kaisen has been very clear.

Therefore, the possibility of Gojo fighting Megumi might not be against his apprentice herself, but rather against her body when possessed by Sukuna, which would make things even more tragic. It might also be the most logical outcome considering that neither has a valid reason to fight or kill the other, so it might be a twist from the author’s perspective.

One of the most traumatic times in Gojo’s life was when he had to take Geto’s life. They were lifelong friends, arguably the only friend Satoru ever had in his life, and he had to kill him because of the path Geto had chosen for himself.

Gojo was shown as a very lighthearted man with his humor and approach to things. However, he has also shown that he can make tough decisions and put his duty ahead of his feelings. This is something that could come to fruition now that Sukuna has Megumi’s body, as there is a high demand to stop Megumi and Kenjaku (who also happens to have Geto’s body).

It could be a very defining thing for Gojo, but he’s shown that when he’s put up against the wall, he can cross that line. The Jujutsu Kaisen manga made it clear that Gojo, due to his power, also has a bit of a Superman complex, believing he has to do it all.

Gojo’s relationship with Megumi’s clan is complicated to say the least, especially since he was the one who killed his father, Toji. Although the relationship with his father was not the best, it could be a foreshadowing element of what will happen in the manga Jujutsu Kaisen.

In fact, it’s safe to say that everything happening now is a direct result of Toji’s actions, especially in his last words in Jujutsu Kaisen manga chapter 72. In it he declares that Megumi is going to be sold to the clan, which causes Gojo to react and take the child with him, hence the current situation.

Final Thoughts

Gojo vs Megumi would definitely be one of the most interesting and complicated fights in all of Jujutsu Kaisen manga, with a lot of the elements that the series has established thrown into the mix. However, the final chapters brought a drastic change with Sukuna taking over Megumi’s body which could be a game changer.
