Ever since My Hero Academia revealed that Midoriya Izuku would one day be able to control the Quirks of previous One For All users, fans have been eagerly anticipating the new abilities the series’ previously Quirkless hero might one day wield. . Unlocking each Quirk required following several specialized training regimens.
Apart from Deku, there have been eight other One For All users; but since All Might didn’t own a Quirk before inheriting one, Deku was still going to inherit those of the other seven users, and they’re all awesome.
Blackwhip – One For All User’s Fifth Quirk
Blackwhip, which was originally owned by Daigoro Banjo – the fifth user of One For All – allows its user to independently create and control multiple tough black tendrils from within their body. Blackwhip is One For All’s most versatile Quirk; its many tendrils can be used as auxiliary limbs, allowing Deku to grasp objects he normally couldn’t reach, or as a mobility buffer. They are strong enough to support Deku’s full weight when he chooses to swing from a building or catapult due to the tension created by the tendrils when stretched.
The black riding crop is also very useful in combat. All of the mobility benefits they give Deku can be applied in combat, along with the unexpected ability to grab and hold opponents at impossible distances. Thanks to the black vine, it became very easy for Deku to subdue dangerous villains.
Float – One For All user’s seventh Quirk
Float was originally owned by Nana Shimura, the seventh user of One For All and All Might’s mentor. Float is a very simple Quirk that has only one purpose: it gives its user the ability to fly and maintain full control of their movements while in the air. Once Deku unlocked this Quirk, it quickly became his preferred method of movement – and for good reason; Float allowed it much better maneuverability than anything the Shoot Style could offer.
After years of mingling with the great power of One For All, Float that Deku currently wields in My Hero Academia is far more powerful than the one that Nana Shimura used. He’s even faster now, and when combined with other Quirks like Blackwhip and Fa Jin, she allows Deku to mimic All Might’s top speed for a while.
Danger Sense – One For All’s Fourth Quirk
While alive, Hikage Shinomori used his Quirk to stay hidden from the public while he reinforced One For All, but Deku takes a more active approach to using this sensory Quirk. As its name suggests, Danger Sense alerts Deku to any potential threats in his surroundings, though it does not grant him omniscience of his surroundings. The Quirk only reacts to negative emotions and hostile intentions directed at Deku. It’s a subtle distinction, but it means the Quirk isn’t as reliable when it comes to non-human threats.
The Quirk’s main weakness remains Himiko Toga, the sadistic and troubled shapeshifter of the League of Villains. Toga is genuinely in love with Deku, and while her preferred methods of expressing that emotion are potentially lethal, Danger Sense has never viewed her as a threat since she doesn’t hold a grudge against him. Likewise, the Quirk didn’t react when Deku confronted his classmates. Although they used force, Class 1-A had their best interests at heart and Danger Sense understood this, refusing to alert Deku to his comrades’ underhanded strategies.
Smokescreen – One For All’s Sixth Quirk
En’s Quirk was perfect for creating a quick distraction or hiding in secrecy. It’s the least offensive Quirk in Deku’s roster and can even become a hindrance if overused. All Smokescreen does is emit thick black smoke from Deku’s body when activated. When he wants, he can instantly hide in a cloud of smoke similar to a ninja’s smoke bomb, and the similarities don’t end there. Much like a smoke bomb, the caster of Smokescreen is not immune to its effects, so they must use it wisely.
En described all of One For All’s Quirks, but most importantly his Smokescreen, and the additional tools that the main power allowed Deku to use. According to him, none of them could ever become powerful enough to spawn unique ultimate moves, but skillfully choosing how and when to activate specific effects would allow Deku to accomplish much more than if he had purely offensive Quirks. .
Fa Jin – One For All User’s Third Quirk
Fa Jin originally belonged to the third user of One For All, who has yet to be named. As the first offensive Quirk inherited by Deku, Fa Jin gave him his biggest power boost since perfecting Full Cowling. This Quirk allows Deku to charge and store kinetic energy in his body when performing repetitive movements. Deku can unleash this energy whenever he wishes, giving him a burst of speed and power.
Deku can regulate the amount of energy Fa Jin releases each time he uses this Quirk, and recharging it is as simple as waving his arm in a continuous circular motion. Its ease of use and activation makes it very reliable in combat, especially as it increases its allowed limit of 45% One For All to mimic All Might’s 100% for short periods. The overall effect of Fa Jin is that it allows Deku to put devastating power behind deceptively light blows. It was the first Quirk that suggested he would be able to surpass All Might in strength – even at the peak of the iconic hero.
Transmission – One For All User’s Second Quirk
Transmission is another alter booster like Fa Jin. It previously belonged to the second One For All user, whose name remains unknown, and is the last Quirk Deku will inherit from One For All. Transmission allows Deku to alter the speed of objects he touches. Like many other Touch Quirks, Deku can use Transmission on himself, going from a respectable speed hero to little more than a green blur.
The Transmission seems to be able to boost Deku’s speed in three stages, but it’s far more dangerous when he decides to use it offensively. After activating the Quirk on himself, Deku can slow his opponents down more and more with each hit he lands. What Fa Jin did for Deku’s power, Transmission does for his speed. For short periods of time, the protagonist of MHA can exceed 45% of One For All and even eclipse All Might’s maximum speeds. As he grows stronger and is able to use higher percentages of One For All, Deku will become even stronger.
One For All was created by All For One and Yoichi Shigaraki
One For All was created when All For One assumed that his younger brother, Yoichi Shigaraki, was Quirkless. Wanting his brother to understand the allure of power, All For One forced Yoichi into a simple Power Quirk, not imagining that he would become an eternal thorn in his side. Unbeknownst to him, Yoichi possessed a useless Quirk that allowed him to transfer powers to other people. When his brother’s curse mixed with Yoichi’s original Quirk, One for All was born.
When Yoichi imparted One for All to its user, it was far from the overwhelming force that All Might wielded in his heyday. All successive One for All users have trained to improve the Quirk, and it has retained all the strength they gave it. One For All is the culmination of several heroic individuals believing that one of them would be able to use this power to defeat All For One – and it seems Deku’s Night has finally completed this long mission. several decades when My Hero Academia comes to an end.
