Creator Eiichiro Oda had a big hit when sales confirmed One Piece a few years ago as the best-selling manga title of all time. And now, IP is about to break another world record by releasing the longest book ever.
The news comes to us from Europe, as JBE Books announced plans to bring One Piece to readers in a new way. It turns out that the publisher is creating a limited-edition volume of One Piece that collects just about all of its pages so far. In this volume alone, there is therefore a staggering 21,540 pages.
With over 21,000 pages to its credit, this volume would become the longest book in the world ever printed for sale. There will be countless panels to look at and, of course, collectors will have to shell out a handsome sum. The book will cost fans more than €1,900 before shipping and taxes. And given the limited number of copies, it is not known how much the second-hand copies will cost.
Only time will tell if One Piece will receive an official award from Guinness World Records for their efforts in this massive book. After all, no record was set by the band for that particular title. However, the Guinness World Records honored the world’s longest novel. This title belongs to the author Marcel Proust and his classic “Memories of the Past”. The novel contains nearly ten million characters in its 13 volumes.
