Chainsaw Man tells the story of Denji, a poor young man. When his father dies, Denji finds himself with many debts and works for the Yakuza to pay them off. He is betrayed by the Yakuza and killed. Denji is then revived by a dog-like demon called Pochita and is transformed into the Chainsaw Man. He then seeks revenge against the Yakuza and is later recruited by a team of demon hunters working for the government.
The manga has 123 chapters published so far by Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The second story arc is published by Shueisha’s online magazine, Shōnen Jump+. As of January 2023, the manga has sold over 23 million copies, making it one of the best manga of all time.
