Chinese anime or Chinese donghua has become quite popular in recent years and its fan base is on par with its Japanese counterpart. Although most donghua have a common theme of cultivation, martial arts, and magic that stems from harnessing one’s own Chi, you’ll keep coming back for more as it showcases Chinese culture and mythology within an interesting and powerful story.

Throne Of Seal donghua is based on the Chinese web novel of the same name written by Tang Jia San Shao. It is produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and the first episode aired on April 28, 2022. The series is currently ongoing with 42 episodes released so far.

The release date of the next episode is already out and we will share it with our readers right here, but before that, here is a short synopsis of the story. The golden age of China, which was under the rule of humanity, had come to an abrupt end when it was invaded by a powerful and dangerous demon race.

The invasion was the work of 72 demons known as the Demon Gods and the land saw overwhelming death and destruction at their hands. As a last resort, the Temple Alliance was formed to hinder the demons and protect what was left of humanity.

Long Hao Chen is a boy who was training to become a knight and his hard work soon paid off when he passed the difficult knight exam. Only one more step stood in the way of his dreams and aspirations: the Holy Resurrection Ritual.

With the guidance of his master, Long Xing Yu, he attends the ritual and there he discovers that he is the Son of Light and is recognized by all as his gifts and vast reserves of spiritual power. Long Xing Yu strongly encourages him to become the knight who will one day defeat the Demon Lord.

Recap of Throne Of Seal Episode 42

The episode begins with Elder Paladin sadly recalling his grandson’s youth. Xiao Yu lost his parents at a young age because his grandfather sent them off to war. As Elder Paladin was thinking about the past, Long Hao Chen interrupted him and told him to back down from his decision to make Xiao Yu Long Hao Chen the escort knight.

Elder Paladin explains that having a squire at his side means that he will carry out the master knight’s orders with absolute loyalty. He will serve as a living shield on the battlefield and his life and death are completely in the hands of the master knight.

When Xiao Yu tells him that no one is born to be someone else’s squire, this is when Elder Paladin reveals his true intention to make his grandson Long Hao Chem the squire. He said that the demons will launch a large-scale attack against the alliance in the near future and that Xiao Yu will fight against them to avenge the death of his parents.

Xiao Yu was angry at his grandfather for sending his parents to their deaths and has been paranoid and consumed with hatred ever since. If Xiao Yu becomes Long Hao Chen’s squire, he can become part of the demon hunter group and Elder Paladin also hopes that Long Hao Chen will influence his grandson and lead him back to the right path.

During the initialization ceremony to become a squire, there was a strong surge of light power within Xiao Yu’s body and they were transported to another location. There, due to the lighting of the pillars, they realized that Long Hao Chen has 97 points of spiritual power and that he is the Son of Light.

Because Long Hao Chen is the Child of Light, his squire’s innate spiritual energy will also increase a lot since they made a blood pact.
