Quick summary of the previous chapter
Mikey expected to visit his mother every week as he frequently fought with other children. Once in the hospital again, he bragged about how his opponents would cry every time they lost to him. His mother commented that children cry easily, and Mikey asked if his father cried the same way. He wondered if he ever cried in public and concluded that he was a lost man. The story begins when Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his high school sweetheart, Hinata Tachibana, has died.
