What happened to Naruto in the Boruto manga? Explanations

What happened to Naruto in the Boruto manga? Explanations

The final chapters of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations have been filled with a ton of action and fans are very worried about Naruto’s well-being. Things have been tense in Konoha ever since Eida and Daemon entered the village.

Sarada, Sumire, Kawaki, and Boruto have been tasked with a special mission, and the safety of the entire village depends on the success of this team.

That said, there came a time when Kawaki decided to go away, which caused chaos among his teammates and those residing with him. He had an honest conversation with the Seventh Hokage in Hinata’s presence and things quickly escalated.

Boruto: What did Kawaki do to Naruto in one of the last chapters?

Kawaki performs a sealing technique on Naruto and Hinat

It’s obvious that Kawaki’s hatred of the Otsutsuki only grew exponentially as the manga progressed. He wholeheartedly admires Naruto, the Seventh Hokage, and has great admiration for him. Kawaki believes it was the Hokage who changed his life and gave him purpose.

However, Kawaki seems to have taken extreme measures to protect Naruto from Otsutsuki’s threats. Kawaki ran away from his residence and decided to go to Naruto. He chatted with him and told him of his intention to eradicate all Otsutsuki. He hinted that Kawaki wouldn’t spare his friend Boruto either. Hinata was moved and slapped Kawaki for saying those words.

What happened to Naruto in the Boruto manga is that Kawaki performed a sealing technique on the Seventh Hokage and Hinata. Shikamaru was shocked to see Naruto’s and Hinata’s chakras immediately fade away.

Panic sets in and the protagonist rushes home to hear from his parents. He encountered Kawaki on his way and the two engaged in a fight. With Eida’s help, Sarada was able to retrieve information about the conversation that had taken place between Kawaki and Naruto. Sarada rushed to the scene to help her dear friend out.

Kawaki revealed what he did to Naruto and Hinata. He used a sealing technique known as Daikokuten. Kawaki used this sealing technique to transport Naruto and Hinata to a realm where they are frozen in time. He guaranteed Naruto and Hinata’s safety, and the only reason he did that was to make sure they wouldn’t interfere when Kawaki decided to mortally wound Boruto.

Sarada arrived in time and tried to help her friend, but she was completely overwhelmed by Kawaki’s strength. While attempting to save Sarada, Boruto ended up losing his right eye.

Shikamaru, Mitsuki, and Sasuke intervene and pull Kawaki away from Boruto. Sasuke states that he won’t hesitate to kill Kawaki if he keeps fighting. Momoshiki makes a brief appearance and has an internal dialogue with his host, reiterating that the ending has already begun.

Final Thoughts

It’s clear that Naruto and Hinata are safe and won’t be harmed as long as they’re sealed. However, fans can expect Shikamaru to strategize and come up with a solution to save them.

Kawaki’s intention to kill his friend remains, but only time will tell when the two characters face off in a fight to the death. It will be interesting to see if the mangaka intends to neutralize Kawaki’s weaponry.
